Frequently asked questions
Answers for organisations and applicants using NPONeeds.
Is NPONeeds free?
Yes. Currently, posting opportunities and applying through NPONeeds are free of charge.
What opportunities can be published?
Development-sector jobs, consultancy roles, internships, fellowships, government and non-government tenders, RFPs, EOIs, RFQs and procurement notices.
Can a government tender be listed?
Yes, when the posting information is verifiable and properly attributed. The official government procurement portal remains authoritative.
How does an organisation post an opportunity?
Use Post Opportunity. Choose the category, enter the required details and submit. Publication takes place after SDF verification and approval.
How do I apply for a vacancy?
Open the opportunity details and choose Apply via SDF or the organisation’s official application link, whichever is authorised for that listing.
Why are there two application methods?
Some organisations receive applications through the SDF form. Others, especially official procurement portals, require an application on their own site.
Will external applications appear in my dashboard?
Your outbound application activity is recorded once SDF tracking is connected. Successful submission on a third-party system needs independent verification before the status is marked Submitted.
Where can I see my applications?
In your existing SDF dashboard under My Job Applications. Organisations access their postings under My Job Postings.
Can an organisation see my personal information?
Only through authorised application workflows and appropriate access controls. Applicant information must not be published in public listings.
Can I edit a published posting?
An authorised organisation user can request an edit through the SDF dashboard. Publication changes follow review rules.
What happens when the deadline ends?
Listings automatically move to closed or expired status once integrated with the central SDF Admin schedule.
Does NPONeeds guarantee placement or award of tenders?
No. Recruitment, selection, appointment, and procurement decisions are made by the posting institution.
How do I report a suspicious opportunity?
Use the Contact SDF link and share the Opportunity ID and a description of the concern.
Are collaboration and partnership requests handled here?
No. Institutional collaborations are managed through SWAPINGO, a separate SUPANSHA platform.
